Preparation: Wipe down the plate with mentholated spirits and a clean rag to removeany dirt. Make sure there is no film or soap residue on the plate after cleaning.
1. Firstly you need to ensure the surface is clean. We recommend wiping with amethylated spirits soaked clean rag. Make sure your hands are clean of dirt and chemicals also.
2. We find it easier to take most guards off the bike to fit but it’s not necessary. Hold thesticker up to the guard and align all holes and edges (this is probably the most crucialstep). Tape down in a few sections with masking tape to hold sticker in place once lined up.
3. Once in place peel and cut off a few inches of the backing paper in one corner(generally the flattest part of the guard). Stick that section down to the guard carefullyso as not to get air bubbles.
4. With that section stuck down remove the masking tape as the sticker should now belined up and not slip. Holding the sticker away from the guard, peel a few more inchesof the backing paper away and proceed to slowly rub the sticker down in a back andforth manner with your thumb. Be sure not to get air bubbles underneath the surface asyou go.
5. Continue to peel off the backing paper and rub sticker down a few inches at a time untilall done. Ensure all edges and holes on the sticker are stuck down to the guard.
6. If necessary trim around any edges of the sticker that may be overhanging or liftingusing a stanley knife or similar. This will prevent dirt getting underneath and lifting thesticker. Try to not ride or wash the bike approx. 48 hours after fitting as the adhesiveneeds as much time as possible to bond the sticker to the guard.
HELPFUL HINT: Try using a hair dryer to help soften the sticker and make moulding easier.Be careful not to over heat the sticker as it will stretch too much.
