Preparation: Wipe down the plate with mentholated spirits and a clean rag to removeany dirt. Make sure there is no film or soap residue on the plate after cleaning.
1. Trim off a small section of the backing paper at the front corner of the sticker and throw away.
2. Align the sticker over the plate making sure all bolt holes and edges are as lined up as possible.
3. Stick down the front section of the sticker to the plate using your thumb/fingers to smooth out any air bubbles.
4. Holding the sticker away from the plate, peel back the left over backing paper and throw away.
5. Lay the sticker down in a horizontal manner across the plate from corner to corner so that the rear section of the sticker is lined up with the back corner of the plate. (This may take a few tries lifting the sticker up and re-laying down to get perfect). Once the sticker is aligned as best as possible with all edges and bolt holes lined up press down the sticker along that horizontal line.
6. Using your thumb/fingers lay the sticker down at the top section and press out any air bubbles and creases as you go. Once again you may need to lift and re-stick but the advantage of our products over our competitor’s is that our stickers will allow you to workout all the creases and achieve a smooth flat finish, even over the most curved plates!
7. Repeat step 7 laying the bottom part of the sticker to the plate.
8. Depending on how you went laying the sticker down you may need to trim someexposed edges to prevent dirt getting underneath and lifting the sticker. Once it is all inplace and all edges have been pressed down, simply use a stanley knife to carefully cut those overhanging sections off and throw away.
9. If you’ve reached this point then WELL DONE, you are now ready to do the rest of the plates!
HELPFUL HINT: Try using a hair dryer to help soften the sticker and make moulding easier.Be careful not to over heat the sticker as it will stretch too much.
